When an appliance stops working, it is more than an inconvenience. Food can spoil, laundry piles up, and the kitchen is harder to use. Appliance Handyman is a mobile appliance repair service. We come to your home to repair kitchen and laundry appliances in houses and condos across Toronto, York, Peel, Durham, and Barrie, and we install new units when repair is no longer the right choice. What we repair and install
We repair refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, ovens, stoves, cooktops, range hoods, and gas appliances. Installation covers washers, dryers, fridges, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, and over-the-range microwaves, including Bosch, Miele, Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Thermador packages. We do not repair furnaces or book HVAC from this site.

How booking works
Tell us the appliance, what it is doing, your city, and the brand if you know it. A photo of the model sticker and any error code helps us bring the likely part. In a condo, add the loading-dock hours, elevator booking, and where we can park. We book a time window and send a technician to your home.
The technician diagnoses the machine in your kitchen or laundry — not over the phone. You get a parts-and-labour quote before any repair starts. If you approve, we repair when the part is on the truck. If the part is special-order, you hear the wait and the price before we leave. Diagnosis is applied to the repair when we complete the job. If you decline, the diagnostic visit is billed.

What a visit costs
These are ranges we see on completed jobs, not a menu and not a phone quote. You get a number after diagnosis, so you can decide with the facts in front of you.
- Dishwasher: often $150–$300
- Washer: many repairs under $200
- Fridge: if the estimate is over about $700 on an older unit, we discuss replacement
Oven elements, dryer igniters, and stove burners are usually well below the cost of a new machine. A control board, a compressor, or a bearing job can change the math. If the quote to fix a four-year-old oven is close to the price of a new oven, we will say replacement is the better spend. You can rest assured we will not push a repair that costs more than the appliance is worth.
Completed repairs include a 3-month service warranty on the work we did. If the same fault returns in that window, we come back. A different part that fails later is a new job.
Houses, condos, and what to have ready
A house visit is usually a driveway and a kitchen or laundry. A condo visit often means a fob, a freight elevator, and a closet that barely fits a stacked pair. Tell us the building rules when you book so the technician is not waiting in the lobby. Clear the floor in front of the machine. If the washer is full of water, let us know. If the fridge has been warm overnight, say that too — food safety is your call, and we diagnose the box.
We cover Toronto, North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Maple, Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, and the rest of York, Peel, and Durham, plus Barrie and Bradford. This is mobile, in-home service — not a call centre in another province.
How to choose a mobile repair service
With so many listings online, it can be hard to know who will actually show up. One of the first things to ask is whether a technician comes to your home. Ask for a phone a person answers, a named technician — not a lead that gets passed along — and a price after diagnosis, spoken clearly, before work starts. Ask what happens if you say no: you pay for the visit, not for a repair you declined.
Be careful with a very low phone price that grows on site, a no-show, or a second visit for a cheap part that was never priced on the first trip. Store warranties that wait a week or two for a factory technician are a different kind of service. We are the same-day option when you want the machine running again in your home.

When your fridge is warm, noisy, or leaking, it is more than an inconvenience. Food can spoil, and waiting often makes the problem worse. Our technicians diagnose refrigerator cooling, ice maker, water line, and compressor faults the same day across Toronto, York, Peel, Durham, and Barrie. We carry common parts on the truck and explain repair versus replace before any work starts.
- Washer repair
If your washer will not drain, spin, or unlock the door, laundry piles up quickly. Our technicians repair front-load and top-load washing machines from Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Bosch, Maytag, and GE, usually the same day. We diagnose the pump, drain, bearings, and control board on site and tell you if a repair is worthwhile before we order parts.
- Dryer repair
When your dryer will not heat, tumble, or start, clothes stay damp and laundry backs up. The cause is usually a heating element, thermal fuse, belt, or moisture sensor — not a new machine. - Oven repair
When your oven will not heat, overheats, or shows an F-code, dinner is on hold. We repair wall ovens, ranges, and double ovens from Wolf, Bosch, GE, Samsung, Whirlpool, and Miele. Bake and broil elements, igniters, temperature sensors, and control boards are diagnosed on site, with a clear repair-versus-replace recommendation.
- Stove repair
If a burner will not light or an element stays cold, dinner is harder than it needs to be. The cause is usually an igniter, switch, or surface element — not a new range. We repair gas and electric stoves and ranges across the GTA, including coil, ceramic, and sealed-burner cooktops that sit on a range.
- Cooktop repair
If a cooktop zone will not heat, or the glass is cracked, there are a few things to consider before you replace the whole surface. Built-in cooktops usually fail at the igniter, element, touch control, or glass. We repair gas, electric radiant, and induction cooktops from Bosch, Wolf, GE, Samsung, and KitchenAid, and we take care around your counter.
- Range hood repair
If your range hood will not vent, rattles, or has lights that stay dark, cooking smoke lingers in the kitchen. We repair under-cabinet, chimney, and over-the-range microwave hoods, including motor, switch, and lighting faults.
- Gas appliance repair
If you smell gas, safety comes first. If a burner will not light and there is no odour, that is usually a same-day igniter job. Gas ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, and dryers need a technician who will test ignition, valves, and combustion. We repair gas appliances across the GTA and treat gas odours as priority calls.
- Appliance installation
A new appliance that is not levelled, vented, or connected correctly can fail early. We install washers, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, and over-the-range microwaves — including Bosch, Miele, Wolf, Sub-Zero, and Thermador kitchen packages. We haul away the old unit when you ask.
