How we can help

We come to your home for upright, chest, and built-in freezers repair in Toronto and the GTA. We work in houses and condos. Tell us which one when you book. Call 416-800-9206, or 905-963-0067 in York, Peel, and Durham. Hours are 7am–11pm on weekdays and 7am–10pm on weekends.

We test the machine where it sits and tell you which part failed, in plain words. You approve the parts-and-labour price before we start. We repair that part. We do not replace the control board, the computer that runs the cycle, unless the test shows it is the fault.

If you book the repair, the diagnosis fee is applied to the job. Finished work includes a 3-month warranty. If the quote is close to the price of a new machine, we say so before you approve.

Common problems we see

• Not freezing

  We measure the temperature inside, then test the fan, the thermostat, and the defrost parts that melt frost off the coils. A leak in the sealed cooling system, the compressor and the closed pipes, is quoted only when those tests point there.

• Frost build-up

  A failed defrost heater, timer, or drain leaves a solid block of frost. We clear the drain path we can reach and quote the failed defrost part.

• Upright, chest, and built-in

  Upright and chest freezers are repaired in place. Built-in columns, including Sub-Zero, may need a different part. We tell you which one you have before we order.

What to expect on the visit

   Tell us the brand, the model sticker if you can photograph it, and whether the fridge, freezer, or ice maker is the concern. In a Toronto condo, send loading-dock hours and whether we need a fob.

   On site we unplug, pull the unit only as far as the job needs, and test with gauges and a meter. If the part is on the truck, we finish that day. If it is special-order, you hear the lead time and the price before we leave the kitchen.

Cost and when to repair or replace

Diagnosis is billed if you decline the work. If we complete the repair, diagnosis is applied to the job. Fan motors, thermostats, inlet valves, and ice-maker modules are common and usually land well under a new fridge. Sealed-system work costs more because of recovery, charge, and labour time.

If the estimate is over about $700 on a refrigerator older than 12–15 years in Toronto, we talk through replacement so you can make the right choice. We will not recommend a compressor on a box that is already rusted through.
