Stove repair in Toronto and the GTA
If a burner will not light or an element stays cold, dinner is harder than it needs to be. The cause is usually an igniter, switch, or surface element — not a new range. We repair gas and electric stoves and ranges across the GTA, including coil, ceramic, and sealed-burner cooktops that sit on a range.

Problems we diagnose
- Burners will not ignite
- Electric element not heating
- Uneven heat or clicking igniter
- Control knobs or infinite switches failed
- Gas smell — we treat this as urgent
Request a visit if you would like us to take a look. Same-day service is available when you call during hours. Diagnosis is applied to the repair when we complete the job.
How we can help
A range is the cooktop and the oven in one chassis. This page is for burner and surface faults, knobs, and the gas or electric supply at the range. Oven-cavity faults are covered on the oven page; we will diagnose both on the same visit if you book the range as a whole.
This is a mobile repair service across Toronto and the GTA. Call 416-800-9206, 905-963-0067, or 705-999-8533. Hours are 8am–11pm weekdays and 8am–10pm weekends. A gas smell is a priority call. Shut the supply if you can reach it, ventilate, and avoid clicking the igniter until we take a look.
Diagnosis is applied to the repair when we complete the job. Completed work includes a 3-month service warranty.
Common problems we see
Gas burner will not light — clicks or stays silent
A wet or cracked igniter, a greasy spark module, or a clogged burner cap will click for a long time and never light. We dry and clean first when grease is the only problem. If the igniter is open or the module is dead, we quote the part. Delayed ignition — a puff of flame after a long click — is a safety issue, and we will treat it that way rather than leaving it as “it lights eventually.”
Electric coil or ceramic zone stays cold
Coil elements burn out. Ceramic radiant zones fail at the element or the infinite switch. We test the zone, the switch, and the limiter. A single dead burner is usually a repair. Several dead zones plus a dead oven on a 15-year-old range is a replace conversation.
Knobs spin, switches fail, or the surface stays on
Infinite switches that weld shut can leave a zone hot after you turn the knob off. That is a same-day safety repair. We shut power, replace the switch, and test that the zone drops out. Loose knobs are a cheaper fix when the stem is still good.
Yellow flame, soot, or a gas odour
A healthy gas flame is mostly blue. Yellow tips and soot mean the burner needs cleaning or the mixture is wrong. A gas odour is not a cleaning job — shut the valve, open windows, and call us. If the manifold or the flex line is unsafe, we will shut the range down and explain why.
Range pulled for cleaning and it will not light after
After a move or a deep clean, the gas valve is often still closed or the electrical plug is half-seated. We check the obvious connections before we recommend a part. If a store installer left the anti-tip bracket off, we will point that out too.
What to expect on the visit
Tell us gas or electric, and which burners fail. If you smell gas, say that first. In a condo, confirm whether the range is on a gas shutoff behind the unit — we may need to pull the range to reach it.
We test each burner, the spark module or the switches, and the oven only if you asked us to. You approve the quote before we replace igniters or elements.
Cost and when to repair or replace
Igniters, elements, and switches are common and usually far cheaper than a new range. Diagnosis is credited when we complete the repair. A spark module or a manifold issue is quoted as its own line.
If multiple burners and the oven cavity are failing on a 15-year-old range, replacement is usually the better choice. We will not patch an unsafe gas path.

Brands we service
GE, Whirlpool, Samsung, LG, Frigidaire, Bosch, and Wolf ranges are regular trucks. Sealed-burner gas, coil electric, and smooth-top electric are all in the book.
Built-in cooktops that are not part of a range sit on the cooktop page. Gas safety overlap is on the gas appliance page.
