If you smell gas, safety comes first. If a burner will not light and there is no odour, that is usually a same-day igniter job. Gas ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, and dryers need a technician who will test ignition, valves, and combustion. We repair gas appliances across the GTA and treat gas odours as priority calls.

How we can help
This page is for gas fuel — ranges, wall ovens, cooktops, and gas dryers. We come to your home. Call 416-800-9206, 905-963-0067, or 705-999-8533. Hours are 8am–11pm weekdays and 8am–10pm weekends. If you smell gas, we treat that call as a priority.
We test ignition, flame quality, and the appliance valves. We quote the igniter, the coils, or the valve before we start. If the job needs a licensed gas connection beyond the appliance, or a part we do not stock, you hear that first. We will not leave an unsafe burner in service.
Diagnosis is applied to the repair when we complete the job. Completed work includes a 3-month service warranty.
Common problems we see
Smell of gas — stop and shut the supply
Do not use electrical switches if the smell is strong. Ventilate if it is safe, shut the gas supply if you can reach it, and leave the home if the odour is heavy. Then call us and, if needed, the gas utility. We treat these as emergency visits during our hours. Please do not keep clicking the igniter to “burn it off.”
Burners will not ignite or ignition is delayed
A weak igniter, a wet electrode, or a failing spark module clicks and never lights — or lights with a puff. Delayed ignition is a safety fault. We clean, test, and replace the igniter or module so the burner lights cleanly.
Yellow flame, soot, or carbon on the cookware
A healthy flame is mostly blue. Yellow tips and soot mean the burner ports are clogged or the mixture is wrong. We clean the caps and ports and retest. If the manifold or the orifice is damaged, we quote that repair or recommend replacing the appliance rather than leaving an unsafe gas path.
Gas dryer runs but will not heat
The drum turns and the clothes stay cold. We test the igniter, the gas coils, and the supply valve. A closed valve after a move is common. A weak igniter is a same-day part when it is on the truck. The vent still gets checked — a blocked lint run will overheat a gas dryer the same way it overheats an electric one.
Oven bake will not ignite on a gas range
The bake igniter glows and the valve never opens, or it does not glow at all. We measure igniter current and quote the igniter before we talk about the valve. Broil and bake are separate on many ranges — say which one failed when you book.
What to expect on the visit
If you smell gas, say that in the first sentence. Otherwise tell us range, cooktop, wall oven, or dryer. We need a clear path to the shutoff behind the appliance. In a condo, confirm the building’s gas-shutoff rules.
We test with the supply on only after we have checked fittings. You approve the igniter or valve quote before we replace parts. If the appliance is unsafe, we shut it down and explain why.
Cost and when to repair or replace
Igniters and gas valves are standard repairs when the appliance is otherwise sound. Diagnosis is credited on a completed repair. You get a parts-and-labour number before we start.
We will not patch a cracked manifold or an unsafe gas path. Those units get a replace recommendation. Hookup of a new gas range or dryer is an installation booking and is quoted before we open a valve.
