Dishwasher not starting
Has the sink filled with dishes because the dishwasher will not take a cycle? That is a common evening problem in Toronto kitchens. It is often a door latch, a control lock, or a panel that never woke up — not a machine that hates your detergent.
A working dishwasher keeps the kitchen comfortable and functional. There are a few simple checks before you book, and a clear point when a technician visit is the safer next step.
What you can check first
Close the door until you hear the latch click. A half-latched door looks like a dead machine. Cancel control lock if the panel shows a lock icon. Confirm the breaker and that the unit is receiving power.
Child-lock and a slightly open door are the two most common “it just died” calls. If the lights come back after those checks, you may not need a visit.
What usually failed
Latches and door switches are the usual after-dinner repairs. A control that never wakes is a different part and a different quote. We test in your kitchen, including Bosch, KitchenAid, Samsung, and LG panels, and we quote before we pull the unit further than the job needs.
Many dishwasher repairs fall between $150 and $300. Diagnosis is credited when we complete the job. You decide before we start.
Built-ins under stone counters
Vaughan and new-build kitchens often have a tight stone opening. We plan the pull so the cabinet is not left open overnight. If the latch is the part, many of those jobs still finish in one visit.
