Appliance stopped mid-cycle

Did the machine start, then die with a load still inside? Many homeowners hit start again and hope the cycle finishes. One retry is enough to see if it was a fluke. Restarting it a dozen times is how a lock, a drain, or an overheat becomes a second fault.

Unplug the appliance if it smells hot. Then we test the cycle that actually failed, quote before work starts, and help you decide whether the machine is still worth keeping.

Washer stopped mid-cycle

Usually the door lock dropped out, the pump did not drain, or the control lost the program. Do not force the door. If the tub is full, treat it as a drain visit rather than another spin attempt.

We run the diagnostic in your laundry and quote the lock, pump, or board before we start. Clothes left sitting in water will start to smell, so it is worth calling once the simple reset has failed.

Dishwasher stopped mid-cycle

A latch that lets go, a drain that faults, or a heater that overshoots will stop the cycle and often throw a code. Scoop standing water, clean the filter, and book if it repeats.

Bosch E24 and LG OE are drain-path codes. The longer notes on those codes are on the blog. Vinegar will not clear a failed pump.

Dryer stopped mid-cycle

A dryer that stops warm is often a vent or a cycling thermostat. A dryer that stops cold may be the element or the igniter. Clean the lint trap, then stop restarting it.

A blocked vent is a safety issue, not a nuisance. If you would like us to take a look, call 416-800-9206. We are happy to help before a mid-cycle stop becomes a second repair.

When to call

If the fault comes back after one reset, or there is water on the floor, stop retrying and book a visit. We diagnose on site and quote before any work starts. Common appliance problems or call 416-800-9206.
