LG appliance repair in Toronto

Is your LG washer flashing OE, or is the fridge humming and not getting cold enough? Those are the two LG problems we hear most in Toronto and the GTA. OE means the washer is not draining. UE is an unbalance. LE is a motor or hall-sensor fault — the hall sensor is the small part that tells the motor control where the drum is. On the kitchen side, linear-compressor refrigerators can get noisy, warm, or both, and homeowners are left wondering if a sealed-system repair is still worth it. We diagnose the code or the temperatures on site and help you choose the honest path.

Common LG faults

  • Washer OE, UE, LE, and drain errors
  • Fridge not cold enough / linear compressor noise
  • Dishwasher OE, LE, HE, and IE codes
  • Dryer not heating

What is going wrong with LG appliances right now

LG front-load washers and linear-compressor fridges are common in GTA condos because they are quiet and they fit a tight laundry closet. The same features create the calls we run. A washer that cannot drain in a stacked closet throws OE and sits full. A fridge that used to be whisper-quiet starts a harsh buzz and the fresh food warms. Dishwashers add OE, LE, HE, and IE on the display.

Homeowners are also stuck between factory service and an independent visit. Factory waits can run long. A warm fridge does not wait. We are the same-day option when you need someone in the kitchen this evening. We repair inverter and drain faults when they are still the right spend. An inverter is the electronic control that speeds the motor or compressor up and down. We will also say when a failed linear compressor on an older box is no longer a worthwhile investment.

If the washer is locked with water in the tub, or the fridge has been warm for hours, call during hours. Food safety and a flooded laundry closet are situations you will want to address as soon as possible, rather than hoping the next cycle will clear it.

LG washer OE, UE, and LE error codes

OE is a drain error. The control did not see the tub empty. The filter in front of many LG washers packs with coins and lint. The drain pump fails. The hose kinks behind a stacked pair. A slow building drain can look like a dead pump. We open the filter, test the pump, and follow the hose before we talk a control board.

UE means the load will not balance. Sometimes it is a heavy blanket. Sometimes a shock or a spider is worn and the tub walks. LE is more serious. It often points to the motor, the rotor, or that hall sensor that tells the inverter where the drum is. Restarting LE over and over can make a weak motor worse. We test the windings and the sensor, then quote the part.

Door errors and dE codes are usually a latch or a door that is not closing square in a closet that is out of level. We do not force the door. We drain first if the tub is full, then we quote the lock. Our washer repair page covers the visit. The LG-specific piece is how often OE and LE show up on the same generation of front-load machines.

LG fridge repair and linear compressors

LG linear compressors run a different sealed-system design than a standard reciprocating fridge. The sealed system is the closed cooling loop that keeps food cold. When they are healthy they are quiet and efficient. When they fail, you hear a buzz or a knock, the temperatures drift, and food is at risk. Not every warm LG fridge is a compressor. Fans, sensors, and a clogged condenser can mimic a sealed-system failure. We measure temperatures and listen before we quote a compressor.

Ice makers and water systems fail on LG French-door models too, though the ice-room layout is not the same as Samsung’s. A jammed maker or a weak inlet valve is still a module job if the box is cold. If the compressor is failed on an older unit, we put repair beside a new fridge in plain numbers you can decide on. Spending sealed-system money on a cabinet that is already tired is rarely the right choice for your home.

If the fridge has been above a safe temperature, we will tell you so you can decide what to keep. See refrigerator repair and the fridge-not-cold post for the general cooling path. The LG decision is whether the inverter and compressor are still a sensible repair.

LG dishwasher error codes

OE on an LG dishwasher is a drain fault, the same idea as the washer. LE can be a leak sensor or a motor fault depending on the series. HE is a heating error. IE is a fill error. We check the filter, the air gap, the hose, and the float before we replace a pump. Many dishwashers that look finished are a packed filter and a hose loop that was installed too low.

Our LG dishwasher error-code post walks through the display. If the code returns after you have cleaned the filter, book the visit. We quote the pump or the heater before we pull the unit from a tight condo kitchen.

What you can try before a visit

On the washer, clean the front drain filter over a shallow pan, straighten the hose, and run a spin-only cycle with the tub empty. For UE, take out half the load and make sure the feet are tight to the floor. For OE that will not clear, stop adding cycles. The tub needs to be emptied on purpose, not by hoping the next start will drain.

On the fridge, clean dust from the grille, make sure the doors seal, and check that the vents inside are not blocked by pizza boxes. A fridge thermometer tells you if you are guessing. On the dishwasher, clean the filter and the spray arms and confirm the sink is draining. A backed-up sink will throw OE every time.

If you hear a harsh compressor knock, if water is on the floor, or if the washer door will not unlock, those need a technician. We are happy to help you decide what is safe to try before we arrive.

When LG repair still makes sense

A drain pump, door lock, hall sensor, or ice-maker module is usually the right repair. An inverter board can still be worth it on a newer washer or fridge. A linear compressor on a fridge that is already toward the end of its life is the quote we split into repair versus replace. We will not talk you into a sealed-system job just to keep the conversation going.

Diagnosis is on site. You approve the work. Diagnosis is applied to the repair when we complete it. Completed repairs include a 3-month service warranty. The form takes 10% off. We do not publish a fake price list because an OE washer and a failed compressor are not the same job.
